Peace on Earth Begins With Birth

Hello,

My Name is Heather Hanning I’ve  been serving Woman as a Licensed Midwife since 2019. My passion for birth was sparked in 2003 after I had an unnecessary cesarean with my first baby. That experience triggered a fire in me to become a Doula and then eventually a midwife. As a Student Midwife I had the opportunity to reclaim my power and had  a HBAC( homebirth after cesarean) with my second baby surrounded with lots of love and support. That experience fueled my passion even more to support and care for woman through their journey of pregnancy, childbirth and beyond.

I’m also a seasoned Licensed Massage Therapist of nearly 25 years. I currently specialize in prenatal and postpartum massage.

I live in the San Bernardino Mountains with my family. In my spare time I like to spend time outdoors with my family and take in the beauty of nature. I enjoy making herbal products like herbal teas, healing salves, bathing salts, essential oil blends etc. You can find them for sale at my office in Redlands.

                                                                                    My Philosophy

Pregnancy and birth have been a huge part of my adult life; it fascinates and inspires me to embrace my own womanhood. It’s a privilege to be able to assist on one of life’s most miraculous events as an birth keeper. Helping guide women through their sacred journey into motherhood and help bring their babies earthside in the peace and comfort of their own homes. I believe that pregnancy, childbirth and postpartum are sacred seasons in a woman's life. How she is treated during that time leaves a huge imprint on the rest of their lives and their babies as well. I practice safe evidence based women led care.I believe that Women should be able to make informed, educated decisions about their own individual care. Birth is physiological. Women are entitled to have full autonomy care; where they feel safe, treated with respect, kindness and love. Woman already have the inner knowledge of how to birth their babies, when undisturbed they are able to listen to their bodies own intuition and sync with the natural rhythms of birth. I also practice family centered care where siblings are welcome to be involved in their mothers’s care and birth. I enjoy working with families and watching them grow and seeing women realize their power in the midst of it all. I love to share my passion for birth and opening people up to the beauty of the process and not give into the fear that is usually attached to it.
